Expertise with Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy & Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT)

Dr. Mel first learned EMDR in 2006 while in a VA Pre-Doctoral Internship to help Veterans process trauma without having to describe details. Certified in EMDR and provides Equine Assisted EMDR called EquiLateral

How do animals help?
They provide emotional safety often described as love. They help us stay present to learn. Click here for AAT benefits.

Why Equines?
When we say one thing but actually feel something different, the equines sense the discrepancy and communicate through their body language, which teaches self-awareness in order to make changes. In other words, being smart about horsing around!

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP), EquiLateral™ (Equine Assisted- EMDR Therapy) & Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) are provided at STAT® Inc Ligonier Therapeutic Center with an Equine Specialist and equines.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy & Learning Models
